Looking at today's city of Aventura with its Luxury High-Rise Condominiums, Single-Family homes, parks, marinas, hotels and world famous Aventura Mall, it is hard to imagine that what we see today was Don Soffer's brainchild sketched on a bar napkin in 1967. It all began with the purchase of a 785-acre tract of submerged and undeveloped swamp and marshland between the Intracoastal Waterway and US-1. Over the following 4 decades, Turnberry Associates would transform that swamp into some of the most desirable places to call home in Northeast Dade County and South Florida in general.
Aventura is a perfect mix of High Rise Condominiums built mostly along the Intracoastal waterway and around the two 18-hole championship golf courses and single family homes in several gated settings such as Country Club Estates, Waterway and Aventura Lakes. Aventura is in close proximity to shopping, schools, parks and a short drive across the Lehman Causway bridge to the beach.
